Koonlawee Nademanee, MD, FACC, FAHA, is a world-renowned cardiologist in Bangkok, Thailand, specializing in cardiac electrophysiology, and currently leading a team of experienced cardiologists at Bumrungrad International Hospital. Practicing for over 30 years across the United States and Thailand, he is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and cardiac electrophysiology.
The CFAE ablation technique has brought Dr. Koonlawee international attention, drawing esteemed physicians from countries around the world including Taiwan, Japan, Italy, and France. An equally diverse patient population travels to see him for arrhythmia treatment as he has seen patients from throughout Asia, across the United States, and around the world.
Actively engaged in research and education, Dr. Nademanee served several years as Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He is a former Professor of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at the University of Colorado. He has been a visiting professor and an invited lecturer at numerous institutions and conferences worldwide. He has authored or co-authored hundreds of clinical publications including articles, editorials, and abstracts, and is a reviewer for several prestigious medical journals.
Prof. Dr. Koonlawee developed one of the first successful approaches to the ablation of atrial fibrillation, for which he has received international recognition. He was also one of the very first to describe the Brugada syndrome (BrS) as the sudden unexplained death syndrome in Southeast Asia and developed ablation therapy for its treatment.
He is especially well-known and regarded for discovering specialized areas of the heart where arrhythmias originate using a mapping of complex fractionated electrocardiograms (CFAEs) which he holds a patent to. He pioneered a breakthrough treatment for both chronic and paroxysmal cardiac arrhythmias called CFAE ablation. This revolutionary technique offers patients quicker recovery times and higher success rates over standard ablation protocols.

Dr. Verapan is board-certified in neurosurgery and has been teaching at the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand for over 25 years. He has become a renowned spine surgeon in Bangkok, Thailand, specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery, including endoscopic spine surgery. Currently, Dr. Vera pan is the Director of the Bumrungrad Spine Institute at Bumrungrad International Hospital, performing over 300 minimally invasive spine operations per year, and leading a team of experienced spine surgeons which have become the leading Asia-Pacific training center for endoscopic surgery techniques.
Dr. Verapan has been partnered with Prof. Sebastien Ruetten, M.D. of St. Anna Hospital-Herne, Germany, in teaching and building the endoscopic spine surgery practice in Thailand for over 11 years. Throughout these years, Dr. Vera pan, together with St. Anna Hospital-Herne, have been jointly organizing full endoscopic lumbar and cervical spine surgery symposiums three times a year, twice in Germany and once annually at the Bumrungrad Spine Institute, Thailand. The symposiums have continued to receive full attendance from over 2,000 spine surgeons flying in from around the world.
With respect to patients who are not suitable candidates for endoscopic spine surgery techniques, Dr. Verapan has integrated various navigated procedural solutions using advanced robotic guidance and an O-arm Imaging System in his operation techniques.
As a respected expert, Dr. Verapan has constantly received numerous invitations to lecture on spine surgery techniques on many occasions from conference organizers worldwide. He has authored or co-authored several clinical publications including articles, editorials, and abstracts.

Dr. Teekakirikul is currently a cardiologist and geneticist at the Heart Institute, and also the Medical Director of Bumrungrad Genomic Medicine Institute. Formerly, he received his MD degree from Chulalongkorn University and his clinical pathology training at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand where he was an instructor in clinical pathology. He subsequently completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Harvard-affiliated Hospitals and Harvard Medical School. He then joined the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) as a clinical fellow in cardiovascular medicine, with further training in the clinical management of genetic cardiomyopathy and cardiac MRI. Before joining staff at Bumrungrad, he was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology, and Center for Cardiovascular Genomics and Medicine at Prince of Wales Hospital and Hong Kong Children's Hospital, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
